Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day Contest

Promoting RDNs Far and Wide and in Times Square!

In celebration of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day — and in thanks for all you do to improve the nutritional health of Americans and people around the world — the Academy hosts a special contest to feature a member in New York’s Times Square. This contest is all about YOU — our members. The contest closed February 14. The winner will be announced on March 11.

Contest entrants were asked to answer the following question in 100 words or less:

"This year's National Nutrition Month® theme has four key messages:

  • Eat a variety of nutritious foods every day.
  • Plan your meals each week.
  • Learn skills to create tasty meals.
  • Consult a registered dietitian nutritionist.

Which of these key messages resonates most with you and why?

The winner will be announced on March 11.


WHO CAN ENTER: The RDN Day Contest is open to all registered dietitians and registered dietitian nutritionists who are current members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Employees of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, their subsidiaries and affiliated companies and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising or promotional agencies, members of their immediate families and persons with whom any of the foregoing are domiciled are not eligible to participate in this Contest.

CONTEST PROMOTER: This Contest is being promoted by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest starts on February 3, 2020, and ends on February 14, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. PST (the "Close Date"). The period in which the contest is open to entrants is referred to as the "Contest Period."

HOW TO ENTER: All current and eligible Academy members of legal age in their jurisdiction who complete the online form are automatically entered into this Contest.

The Academy is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, stolen, misdirected, misidentified or incomplete posts or contributions, for any problems or technical or mechanical malfunction of any telephone systems, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any posts or contributions to be received by the Contest Administrator on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by equipment, programming used in this Contest, human processing or otherwise, or any combination thereof.

SELECTION OF WINNERS: One (1) winner will be selected at the discretion of the Contest Promoter after the contest closes February 14.

PRIZES: One (1) prize in the form of a feature on a Times Square banner, an announcement in the Eat Right Weekly electronic newsletter and features on the Contest Promoter’s social media pages and website will be awarded to the one (1) winner selected by the Contest Promoter among all eligible participants.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Selected winner will be notified by email or phone within 48 hours of the decision.

By participating in this Contest, each participant agrees to release and hold the Contest Administrator, their subsidiaries and affiliated companies and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Contest participants also agree that by entering this Contest, their name, credentials, photo, response to the Contest question and social media handles may be used by the Academy in future promotions on its social media pages, websites and other digital media properties.

This Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
