Academy Names Food and Nutrition Labeling Workgroup

The Academy's Legislative and Public Policy Committee has named member-experts to its Food and Nutrition Labeling Workgroup. This workgroup will guide the strategy for the Academy’s advocacy and public policy efforts in developing stances and principles on labeling issues.

FNLW members are Becki Holmes, RD; Barbara Ann Hughes, PhD, RD, LDN, FADA; Alison Kretser, MS, RD; Krista Latortue, MPH, RD, CSP, LDN; Elizabeth Pivonka, RD; Lauren Swann, MS, RD, LDN; and Jimin Yang, PhD, RD.

The FNLW will be chaired by LPPC member Dianne Polly, JD, RDN, LDN, and includes representatives from the Research; Dietitians in Business and Communications; and Nutrition Education for the Public dietetic practice groups.

Academy members interested in providing additional expertise on food and nutrition labeling issues should contact Pepin Tuma, director of regulatory affairs.
