Foundation FNCE Event Recap

During the Academy's Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo in Houston, the Foundation hosted several events that generated financial contributions as well as new campaign volunteers for Kids Eat Right.

Foundation events included a food bank excursion, nutrition symposium, a breakfast series, gala, photo shop and silent auction. There were 92 items donated for the silent auction; sponsorship and event participation raised $350,000; and 150 members signed up as Kids Eat Right campaign members.

During the FNCE Member Showcase, keynote speaker and artist Erik Wahl painted two pieces that he donated for the 2014 silent auction in Atlanta, each valued at $5,000. In addition, Wahl hid a painting and sent members on a scavenger hunt to find it. Two members - Jessica Coffee, RD, LD, Southlake, Texas; and Shiloh Quintana, RD, Starkville, Miss., found the painting at the same time, and together they donated it to the Foundation for next year’s silent auction as well. Special thanks to all three for their generous donations.

Support the Foundation of your profession: Annual donations totaling $250 or more will be recognized in the Eat Right Society. Donate to the Foundation online or contact Amy Donatell at 312/899-4767.
