San Antonio Health and Fitness Grant

The city of San Antonio, Texas, recently received a $1.5 million grant from The Coca-Cola Foundation to help reach the city’s SA2020 Health and Fitness Goals.

The grant to San Antonio Sports and the San Antonio Food Bank will help expand the Mobilizing Health and Fitness Resources to Neighborhoods Project. The program brings fitness activities to locations throughout San Antonio free of charge; expands homework assistance, mentoring, fitness and nutrition education in a sports after-school program; and includes a food bank mobile farmers market to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to families in areas identified as food deserts. The grant is an example of how Coca-Cola is helping support active healthy living initiatives.
