Academy Hosts Congressional Briefing: Importance of Public Health Funding

The Academy co-hosted a Congressional briefing on Capitol Hill last week on the importance of federal funding for prevention and public health initiatives. The significant work of many registered dietitian nutritionists who work in public health was highlighted.

At a packed auditorium of advocates and congressional staff, Academy speakers and leaders emphasized the impact of federal public health funding, including funding authorized in the Affordable Care Act's Prevention and Public Health Fund.

All attendees received a copy of the Academy's publication featuring the important work of RDNs who receive funding from the Prevention Fund.

The Academy will continue to advocate for robust federal investment in prevention and public health to improve the health of Americans.
