RDNs in Community Transformation Grant-Funded Projects: We Need Your Stories

Are you a registered dietitian nutritionist working on a project that is funded by a CDC-supported Community Transformation Grant? If so, the Academy needs your help.

CTG grants were established by the Affordable Care Act to improve the health and wellness of all Americans through community-level programs that prevent chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. These grants, totaling more than $170 million over the last two years, have been awarded to state and local government agencies, tribes and territories, and nonprofit organizations.

Unfortunately, the Prevention and Public Health Fund, the funding source for these critical grants, is in jeopardy. To better advocate for the continued need for federal investment in public health programs, the Academy needs to know how the loss of this funding will affect our members: We need to hear from you.

If you are an RDN who is involved in a CTG-funded program, please contact Whitney Brown, director of legislation and policy, and share your story. Tell us about the program you're involved in and how it's making a difference in your community.
