Learn about learning possibilities from the Center for Professional Development.

  • June 25: "Application of the NCP and IDNT: Enhancing the Value of Your Work in Public Health/Community Nutrition"
Two registered dietitian nutritionists with extensive and varied experiences in public health/community nutrition will highlight the ways that the Nutrition Care Process and its complementary standardized language, the International Dietetics and Nutrition Terminology, can be fully implemented in a variety of settings and circumstances in public health/community nutrition practice. Participants will learn how the NCP and IDNT will play a critical role in enhancing the value of nutrition services; demonstrating to key stakeholders how those services are valuable; and preparing for shifts in health-care delivery as clinical and public health arenas become more integrated.
  • August 21: "Why Social Media Ethics Apply to You in Dietetics"
The growth and prevalent use of social media in today's environment pose unique challenges to the legal and ethical behavior in dietetics practice. This webinar should assist practitioners in being able to identify appropriate applications of social media to avoid legal and ethical problems in practice. Case studies related to clinical practice and social media will be provided in addition to situations and applications of social media that had negative impact. Practical applications for using social media in clinical care and other practice settings will be provided.

Each webinar will last from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Central Time.
