Help Support Strong Nutrition Programs in the Farm Bill

Last week, the Senate and House Agriculture Committees passed their respective versions of the Farm Bill, which includes programs that feed millions of Americans and employ thousands of registered dietitian nutritionists across the country. Please take action to support this important piece of legislation.

The Senate's Farm Bill protects SNAP-Education funding, agriculture and nutrition research, the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program and the Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program. It also limits cuts to the SNAP (food stamps) program.

The House's version of the Farm Bill cuts funding over 10 years to SNAP ($21 billion) and SNAP-Education ($274 million) and undermines the integrity of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program and the Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program while protecting nutrition and agriculture research.

The Senate has begun debate on the floor this week, while the House will take up floor debate in June.

Take action.
