Members Attend Let’s Move! Event with First Lady

Several Academy members recently were invited to the White House to hear about the success of Let’s Move! and its various programs and sub-initiatives. First Lady Michelle Obama shared her vision of improving the health of families.

Members also heard from Marissa Duswalt, RD, associate director of policy and events for Let’s Move!; Sam Kass, executive director of the Let’s Move! initiative; and agency officials. At the end, attendees had the opportunity to interact in breakout sessions, share common goals and produce meaningful ideas for collaboration.

The Academy has a longstanding relationship with Let’s Move! and continues to meet to identify opportunities to collaborate in the future.
