RD Parent Empowerment Project

Nine registered dietitians and interns are implementing the RD Parent Empowerment Project in four communities through an educational grant from MetLife Foundation.

The school and community sites, located in Chicago, San Francisco, Tennessee and Washington, D.C., host monthly parent workshops led by a registered dietitian to empower parents to make healthy changes for themselves and their family and begin to inspire their peers to do the same. Parent workshops feature The 8 Habits of Healthy Children and Families™ and Kids Eat Right Shop Smart, Cook Healthy, Eat Right messaging, along with a hands-on cooking activity.
