Idaho Members Advocate for Nutrition Counseling

The Idaho Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics spoke recently to the state's Senate and House Health and Welfare committees on the value of medical nutrition therapy.

During the presentation, organized by Idaho affiliate leaders, speakers RoseAnna Holliday, PhD, MPH, RD, and SeAnne Safaii, RD, advocated for including nutrition counseling and MNT into the state's Essential Health Benefits package while building relationships with key decision makers and legislators.

Following the hearing, Idaho affiliate leaders were approached by a state legislator interested in working to introduce a resolution that would outline benefits of nutrition counseling and MNT on Idaho’s health-care system.
