CPE Available Via Webinars

Nutrition-focused physical exam, new Academy/ASPEN guidelines on adult malnutrition and product safety in the gluten-free market are just some of the upcoming webinar topics that offer members CPE from the convenience of office or home.

  • February 28: "Nutrition-Focused Physical Examination: Enhancing Your Clinical Toolbox"
Two experienced advanced practitioners will teach you how to perform and implement nutrition-focused physical examinations into daily practice. Learn why including a nutrition-focused PE in a comprehensive nutrition assessment is an essential component of the Nutrition Care Process and why RDs are uniquely qualified to perform them.
  • March 21: "Applying Academy/ASPEN Guidelines to Identify and Document Adult Malnutrition: A Change in Practice"
Be ready to apply the new ASPEN/Academy guidelines for the identification and documentation of adult malnutrition. Participants will learn how to integrate evidence obtained from reviewing the medical record, conducting a patient interview and nutrition-focused physical examination and other sources to determine the possible etiology, presence and degree of malnutrition.
  • April 18: "Burgeoning Gluten-Free Market: Ensuring Product Safety"
The gluten-free market is skyrocketing. Sale of gluten-free foods is expected to reach 5.5 billion by 2015. Ingredients that were once relegated to products found only in natural food stores are making their way into foods sold in your local grocery store. What do you tell your clients with celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity about these products and their appropriateness for gluten-free diets? This webinar will use plant taxonomy, current labeling laws and testing data to discuss the safety of the myriad of gluten-free foods available today.

Each webinar will last from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Central Time.
