Sen. Franken Speaks at Public Policy Committee Meeting

Sen. Al Franken (Minn.), a champion of nutrition and dietetics, spoke last week to the Academy's Legislative Public Policy Committee and Political Action Committee Board of Directors at the Academy's Policy, Initiatives and Advocacy office in Washington, D.C.

The Academy's public policy member-leaders engaged in a lively discussion with Sen. Franken about legislation and policies affecting dietetics. Images from this event are posted on the ANDPAC Facebook page.

Sen. Franken earlier received the Academy's 2012 Public Policy Leadership Award for his nutrition advocacy work in diabetes prevention and education and nutrition services for older Americans.
