Election Results for Academy's Congressional Supporters

The November 6 election was a success for a number of the Academy's champions in Congress.

Senate Agriculture Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow (Mich.) won her reelection bid, as did Sens. Jon Tester (Mont.); Sherrod Brown (Ohio); and Amy Klobuchar (Minn.); Reps. Allyson Schwartz (Pa.); Betty McCollum (Minn.); Danny Davis (Ill.); Rosa DeLauro (Conn.) and many more pro-nutrition officials.

SNAP-Ed champion Rep. Joe Baca (Calif.) lost his re-election race. Edolphus Towns (N.Y.), a leader in diabetes issues, was replaced by Jerrold Nadler (N.Y.). The Academy will work to identify new nutrition education champions inside Congress.
