RD Parent Empowerment Program 2012-2013

The RD Parent Empowerment Program is entering its third year through an educational grant from MetLife Foundation. Registered dietitians will participate in three school and three community sites in Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

The Academy's Foundation is partnering with an internship program at Eastern Tennessee State University, where two interns will co-teach the RD Parent Empowerment Program at a community site. Four interactive parent workshops will run from January through May 2013, helping parents adopt the "8 Habits of Healthy Children and Families" and empowering parents to shop smart, cook healthy and eat right.

For members interested, in leading this program in their community, the RD Parent Empowerment Program will become available at for members to download all-new materials in English, Spanish and Chinese.
