Controversy exists regarding GDM screening and diagnosis; however, medical nutrition therapy, glucose monitoring, physical activity and if necessary, medication are the most accepted management strategies. Other important issues in GDM include weight management, food safety and cultural considerations. This webinar will discuss the definition, diagnosis and management of GDM and the Academy's evidence-based GDM nutrition practice guideline. Through the use of case studies, participants will learn how to incorporate the Nutrition Care Process into various practice settings.
