New School Year, New School Meals

Leaders from the White House, Pew Charitable Trusts, U.S. Department of Agriculture and National PTA led a virtual Back-to-School night last week to discuss improvements to school meals to align with the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Revamped menus will provide daily fruits and vegetables, increased offerings of whole grains and reduced amounts of saturated fat, added sugar and sodium.
