Member's Daughter Wins Invitation to Kids' "State Dinner"

Rori Coyne, 12, daughter of Academy member Mary Wolarik, MS, RD, LD, president-elect of the Kansas Dietetic Association, was the Kansas winner of the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge and Kids' State Dinner contest, sponsored by Epicurious.com, for her dish Yummy Cabbage Sloppy Joes.

The winning junior chefs will attend a dinner at the White House August 20 hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama. Entrants were required to indicate how they would serve their dish to include most or all of the major food groups as detailed on MyPlate.gov.
