Upcoming webinars:

  • June 21: "Eating Disorder Treatment: Innovative and Collaborative Approaches." Recent increases in the prevalence of disordered eating and concerning emerging trends have reshaped the type and form of interventions that are necessary for effective treatment. This webinar will review basic signs and symptoms of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and eating disorders not otherwise specified (EDNOS). Emerging trends recognized as diabulimia, drunkorexia, orthorexia and Desperate Housewives syndrome will also be discussed. Beyond effective screening, the design of an innovative and collaborative treatment team will be defined.
  • July 26: "Agricultural and Food Production Practices: Sorting Out the Science on Nutrition and Food Safety." In this webinar, industry experts will sort the myths from the science on nutrition and safety of organic and conventional foods and food production systems. They will discuss the challenges and rewards of various agricultural methods and how to communicate the truth to your clients and to consumers.
  • August 22: "Nutrition-Focused Physical Examination and Laboratory Values." Who better to guide you through a nutrition-focused physical assessment than a registered dietitian who is also a physician? Heather Breen, MD, RD, will acquaint webinar participants with physical examination techniques based on systems of the body: oropharynx, dermatological, musculoskeletal and more, and will discuss relevant laboratory findings.
