Webinar on Autism and Food

Healthy Food Action will present a June 11 webinar on "The Autism Revolution: Thinking About Environment and Food." According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, autism is now diagnosed in 1 in 88 children - which is a 70 percent increase in the past six years alone.

The webinar will discuss how certain dietary factors such as vitamin deficiencies and high fructose corn syrup consumption affect metabolic functions that govern the body's ability to eliminate toxic chemicals. Speakers include moderator Kathleen Schuler of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy; Renee Dufault, a retired FDA toxicologist; and Martha Herbert, MD, PhD, a Harvard University pediatric neurologist.
