Balanced Life with Diabetes Toolkit

The National Diabetes Education Program has developed a new toolkit, "Living a Balanced Life with Diabetes." This resource can help health-care professionals address psychosocial issues of American Indian and Alaska Native people with diabetes.

The toolkit's components include the book The Wit and Wisdom to Live Well with Diabetes book and audio CD, tip sheets, screening tools and a list of resources for American Indians and Alaska Natives.

In addition, NDEP is developing a free and easy-to-use CD and catalog for people who work with Asian-Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, to find diabetes education resources relevant to their populations. Resources include important information for health-care professionals, materials for people with type 2 diabetes or who are at risk for the disease and resources for conducting outreach campaigns.
