Academy Members Keynote Aging in America Conference Sessions

The American Society on Aging recently hosted the 2012 Aging in America Conference in Washington, D.C., which featured keynote addresses from three Academy members.

Joy Bauer, MS, RD, CDN, nutrition and health expert for The Today Show; and Marie T. Fanelli Kuczmarski, PhD, RD, LDN, University of Delaware, co-presented a session on malnutrition and older adults. Mary Pat Raimondi, MS, RD, the Academy's vice president for strategic policy and partnerships, discussed the impact of hunger on this population during the Hunger in America session, and highlighted innovative programs being led by Academy members to resolve this problem.

Robert Blancato, MPA, nationally recognized aging expert and executive director of the National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services, emphasized the need for nutrition education to be included with any solutions for this issue.
