Rankings Measure Academy's Increasing Social Media Impact

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' social media activity levels on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter compare favorably with other nonprofit organizations, according to the 2012 Social Media Report for Associations: Adoption and Activity Levels, Rankings and Best Practices (Association Trends and Qrisp LLC).

More than 330 national and regional associations' Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts were monitored and ranked for their social media adoption and activity levels during the fourth quarter of 2011.

Among national associations with staff size over 100, the Academy ranked 33 out of 180. In the Health sector, the Academy ranked 6 out of 62 associations, and was listed in the "Highest Activity" level, or top 20 percent.

The Academy recorded a high level of activity on Facebook: 28,724 Likes and 571 Talking About; YouTube: 9,819 Channel Views, 82,875 Upload Views and 223 Subscribers; and Twitter: 883 Tweets, 6,496 Followers and 207 Listed.
