Call for Anecdotes: As Centennial Approaches, Share Your Story

ADA's centennial will be in 2017, and the Association is getting ready for it. One of ADA's current projects is an update of the Association's history Carry the Flame from 1990 to the present.

Although major developments of the Association and how they have influenced the profession can be tracked, ADA wants to hear individual members' thoughts on the Association's history since 1990: how have you seen ADA grow and who has influenced or mentored you? ADA will review members' short anecdotes and recollections and may also publish some in the next few years in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association (which will become the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in January 2012). Members will be notified if their story is selected for publication and will be credited by name, location and profession.

Individual stories and recollections breathe meaning and color into efforts to capture an organization's history and members have the opportunity to be a part of this exciting project. Send brief stories, viewpoints or anecdotes by December 15 to history@eatright.org.
