HEN DPG Announces Development of Food and Water Systems Tool Kit

ADA's Hunger and Environmental Nutrition dietetic practice group announced it is developing a Science of Sustainable and Resilient Food and Water Systems Tool Kit. The tool kit will promote access to nutritious food and clean water from a secure and sustainable food system, and will support sustainable food initiatives that were celebrated in Food Day events.

HEN is forming a task force to construct the tool kit, which will include guidance for implementing community food system projects, educators' lessons that increase student involvement in food and water system issues, and advocacy information for policies that support sustainable food and water systems. The development of the tool kit will coincide with the development of Standards of Professional Performance in sustainable food and water systems.

For more information on the task force and tool kit, contact HEN Chair Alison Harmon, PhD, RD, LN, at 406/994‐6338.
