Affiliates Discuss Protecting the Profession at Licensure Workshop

ADA and the Commission on Dietetic Registration are co-sponsoring "Engagement with Licensure: A Workshop for Advancing Your Profession" for affiliate leaders to actively address licensure challenges and threats to the dietetics profession.

Representatives from 45 affiliates will gather this week in Pittsburgh, Pa., to learn effective strategies for protecting dietetics scope of practice, including reporting violations and harm as well connecting with and understanding licensure boards.

ADA Board member Glenna McCollum, DMOL, MPH, RD, Past Speaker of the House of Delegates, is among the featured presenters. The 1½-day "train-the-trainer" workshop will include resources for leaders to coach members in their states. It is being held in conjunction with the Council for Licensure Enforcement and Regulation's annual conference.
