ADA Members Urge Congress to Make Diabetes a Priority

Members of ADA's Diabetes Care and Education DPG provided expert background information for attendees at a recent Congressional briefing on effective nutrition treatment and prevention efforts for people with diabetes.

ADA member Maggie Powers, PhD, RD, was part of a distinguished panel that spoke to members of Congress and their staffs on the importance of diabetes funding. Ms. Powers spoke vividly about effective prevention efforts, particularly nutrition interventions and the effectiveness of medical nutrition therapy, with stories of how these efforts affect patients' and clients' lives.
