Promoting Prevention ... and Proving It Works

As ADA staff and members work with Congress and federal agencies to fund new and existing efforts to improve people’s health through prevention of disease and other conditions, an article in the Spring issue of ADA Times is especially timely and useful.

The article is titled "Portraits of Prevention: Approaches to Launching Successful Programs." It says, in part: "Despite the challenges associated with proving that prevention works, registered dietitians are finding ways to address these challenges through strategies in program design and evaluation."

ADA staff along with other members of health care provider organizations have been using the ADA Times article as background information while making numerous visits with key members of the U.S. Senate to provide information on the effectiveness of prevention efforts. These visits will continue in the weeks to come.
