ADAPAC Receptions Offer Dialogue with Elected Officials

Members living in the Washington, D.C., area had the opportunity recently to speak with two members of Congress at events sponsored by ADA's Political Action Committee.

On May 3, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D.-Texas) spoke highly of ADA and the importance of RDs in shaping nutrition policy. On May 7, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D.-Md.) shared his personal nutrition story and encouraged RDs to be "witnesses" of the link between nutrition and health on Capitol Hill. More than 50 people attended each of the events. Photos of the events are on ADA's Facebook page.
