Protecting Students and Raising ADA's Online Profile

ADA has been working on multiple fronts to increase the Association's visibility in web searches for terms like "registered dietitian," and also to ensure that colleges and universities whose names appear prominently in searches offer programs that are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education.

A recent article in the Chronicle of Higher Education addressed this issue, including an interview with Ulric Chung, PhD, executive director of CADE, on ADA's strategy to aid potential students. It includes posting language on listing programs that do not meet the requirements for the registration examination for RDs.

To meet ADA's goal of being the first result on any search engine for the term "registered dietitian," the Association is launching a Search Engine Optimization initiative designed to:

  • Increase visitor traffic to ADA's website and drive people to pages optimized for specific keywords and phrases
  • Position on the first page of non-paid search results for specific keywords
  • Generate brand awareness for
