Diabetes 2025: National, State and Local Trends

The Institute for Alternative Futures has prepared estimates of the burden of diabetes in the years 2000, 2010, 2015 and 2025, for each of the 50 states plus 13 major metropolitan areas.

The report addresses such questions as: What will be the future cost of diabetes in a particular state or major city? What will be the impact of diabetes on population groups that are disproportionately affected? How will the growing burden of diabetes affect employers and employees? How many health-care workers will be needed to manage diabetes in the next 15 years?

Commissioned by Novo Nordisk, a partner in the Diabetes Advocacy Alliance along with ADA, this free and easy-to-navigate data source can be used by policy makers and legislators, journalists, members of the diabetes community and the general public.
