Presentation

Future Scenario Workshop on Dietetics Workforce Demand

The Dietetics Workforce Demand Study Task Force hosted a one-day Future Scenario Workshop in late January that included task force members, ADA and CDR organization unit leaders, technical paper authors and individuals who participated in last September's thought leaders meeting.

Visioning and analyzing the key drivers of change identified during the thought leaders meeting, workshop participants identified implications of these change drivers for the dietetics profession through the development of future practice scenarios. These scenarios describe what the future landscape for RDs and DTRs will look like in 10 years.

The Lewin Group, a Washington D.C.-based consulting firm, has been selected as the vendor for the quantitative aspect of the study. It began work by participating in both the future scenario workshop and meeting with the task force in January. The scenarios developed during the workshop will form the basis for the quantitative modeling component of the study. It is anticipated that the quantitative study will be completed in mid-summer.
