RD Day

Celebrate Registered Dietitian Day

The fourth annual Registered Dietitian Day is Wednesday, March 9, during National Nutrition Month®. ADA offers a wide variety of ways to celebrate the dedication of registered dietitians and dietetic technicians, registered who advance the nutritional status of Americans and people around the world.

  • Ask your mayor or governor to declare March 9, 2011 "Registered Dietitian Day." Sample proclamation forms are available on the NNM website.
  • Hang a banner featuring "Registered Dietitian: Nutrition Facts from the Expert." Request Registered Dietitian Day graphics from nnm@eatright.org.
  • Display photos and biographies of staff RDs on workplace bulletin boards – and be sure to note the combined number of years of nutritional expertise of the RD/DTR team.
  • Highlight the contributions of RDs in employee or community newsletters.
  • Encourage staff members to sign a "thank you" card or write individual notes of appreciation to RDs in the organization.
  • Affiliates: Place ads in local news media that promote the RD as the nutrition expert.

For more ideas, visit the NNM website.
