Food Companies Ready to Ramp Up 'Facts Up Front' Labeling Initiative

Major food manufacturers recently launched the "Facts up Front" voluntary labeling campaign that provides nutrient information on the front of the label to help consumers make more informed choices. In addition to voluntary industry initiatives, the Academy anticipates that the Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory entities will issue new regulations and guidance related to labeling. To identify, examine and recommend effective labeling policy, the Academy is forming a Food and Nutrition Labeling Workgroup.
