Practice Standards Published for RDs in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

The Academy has published "Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance for Registered Dietitians (Competent, Proficient and Expert) in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities." The standards article, quality indicators and practice role examples can be found in the September Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and on the Academy's website.

Member Receives ACFSA Award

Academy member Barbara A. Wakeen, MA, RD, LD, received the 2012 President's Award at the International Association of Correctional Food Service Affiliates Conference, recognizing her dedication to the organization and the field of correctional dietetics. Ms. Wakeen is the chair of the Dietetics in Health Care Communities dietetics practice group and chair of Dietitians in Corrections at ACFSA.
