Prevention Fund Off the Chopping Block

Republican leadership in the House and Senate have sent a joint letter to President Obama outlining potential compromises they could support to extend lower interest rates on Stafford student loans. Missing from this list of compromises were cuts to the Affordable Care Act, which includes the Prevention and Public Health Fund, suggesting that the Prevention Fund would not be offered as an offset in this particular debate.

National Lipid Association Fellows

Academy members Julia A. Bolick, RD, MS, CLS, FNLA, Sandy, Utah; and Geeta Sikand, RD, CDE, CLS, FNLA, Irvine, Calif., are among 22 new fellows of the National Lipid Association. This designation is reserved for those who have made outstanding contributions at the regional or national level in clinical lipidology via practice, education or research. The announcement was made at the National Lipid Association's recent annual meeting.

Call for Applications: Journal Editor-in-Chief

The Academy is issuing a call for interested applicants for the position of Editor-in-Chief of its flagship scientific journal. The contract position begins in April 2013. Applications must be postmarked no later than June 30.
