DPGs Provide Member Input on Regulatory Initiatives

When ADA analyzes and drafts comments for proposed regulations and other initiatives, it solicits members' insights through dietetic practice groups. Members are encouraged to work with their DPG public policy representatives or other leaders to coordinate policy recommendations. Review a list of open public comments on which ADA anticipates a submission.

Comments on AHRQ Bariatric Surgery

ADA submitted comments to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality related to key questions on the research topic "Comparative Effectiveness of Bariatric Surgery and Nonsurgical Therapy in Adults with Metabolic Conditions and a Body Mass Index of 30.0 to 34.9 kg/m2."

USDA Report: "How Much Time Do Americans Spend on Food?"

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has released a report drawn from data in the "2006-08 ERS Eating & Health Module of the American Time Use Survey" to present an overview of Americans' eating and other food-related time use patterns, including grocery shopping and meal preparation and teenage time use patterns in relation to school meals.
