As you may know, the second ADA/AMIA 10x10 Class (with a nutrition focus) is now in progress. The nutrition theme/content is managed by Marty Yadrick, Elaine Ayres and myself. I sometimes feel that I am learning as much (or more!) as I am contributing. We are in midst of an explosion in the informatics arena – and it is exciting to have nutrition in the midst of this. This year’s class as last year, will have a full-day “In Person” Session at FNCE 2011.
The talents of this group have proven to be equally skilled and exciting as the first 10x10! The responsibilities are vast and varied: Clinical Dietitian, Chief Clinical, Nutrition Managers, Systems Analyst, Software Developers, and Clinical Research Bionutritionist – to name just a few! Just as with the first offering, the 10x10 participants have responsibilities which encompass all six “areas of practice” within ADA.
Our present class has 27 students from 15 different states, plus Canada. Last year’s group included 40 students--representing 21 different states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Germany! We look forward to another great experience when this group meets in person in September!
