I have to take a moment and thank Ivonne Cueva (Managing Editor, Online Services and Strategies) for ADA. In mid-May of this year, while discussing how to communicate HITECH Initiatives to members, Harold Holler (VP, Governance & Practice) and Diane Juskelis (Director, DPG Relations) suggested a blog. Great idea!  A few days later I was on the phone with Ivonne and within five days of our first discussion, the Nutrition Informatics blog was live on the eatright.org site!  Talk about an amazing turn response! Since then, there are weekly improvements and I find myself struggling to keep up with the progress.  Thank you, Ivonne!

I will be interested to hear from those of you who are taking the 10x10. I was not able to sign up this time, but do hope it will be offered again. I've worked closely along side IT with the Cerner developements for the past several years (build started 06) and am now put on all department technology projects. We don't yet have CPOE. We also now have interface to Computrition (went live last Fall) which has been a different technology direction aside from health informatics. My current position has evolved the past couple years and am considering an online masters program. I still have one foot in clinical and love wearing that hat as well, which keeps applications of NCP real. Are some of you still in your department who are able to directly work with systems or have you moved to the IT departments? Do any of you have recommendations for programs? Thanks, Marcie.  The present 10x10 is offered through Oregon Health and Science University and has 42 students!  I hope to get some additional information out which may answer some of your questions after this class finishes.
