Champions for Healthy Kids Grants

$1 Million Available through the Champions for Healthy Kids Grants in 2014!

Over the past 11 years, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation and the General Mills Foundation have awarded annually, $500,000 in Champions for Healthy Kids grants to nonprofit organizations across the U.S. promoting healthy eating and active lifestyles targeted to kids and families. This year, we applaud General Mills for doubling their commitment to this program to $1 million, awarding fifty, $20,000 grants. Applications must be submitted by an RDN or DTR member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. They are due Friday, March 14, 2014 at 5 pm CST.

It is highly recommended that applicants utilize the Guide for Effective Nutrition Interventions and Education (GENIE) to help plan a strong application. You can access GENIE at sm.eatright.org/GENIE.

  • Applications available online Feb. 1, 2014
  • Applications due Friday, March 14, 2014 (at 5:00 pm CST)
  • Award recipients announced May 31, 2014
  • Funding available for recipients June 2014
