American Dietetic Association Brings the World of Food and Nutrition to Honolulu

CHICAGO – The American Dietetic Association brings the world of food and nutrition to the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu September 16–19 for ADA’s 2006 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo.

From the latest nutrition science research to developments in national health policy and legislation, ADA’s meeting offers cutting-edge news on children’s nutrition, food labeling, supplement use, disease prevention and more.

ADA’s annual conference represents the world’s largest gathering of food and nutrition experts – 10,000 registered dietitians, policy makers, health-care providers, researchers and industry leaders. They will attend more than 100 research and educational presentations, lectures, debates, panel discussions and culinary demonstrations.

More than 300 exhibitors from corporations, government and nonprofit agencies will showcase new food products, services and nutrition education materials.

Highlights of ADA’s 2006 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo include:

  • Opening Session on Saturday, September 16, with Keynote Address by award-winning author Gregory Stock, a nationally known authority on the impact of technology on life sciences.
  • Expo Hall opens Sunday, September 17, with more than 300 exhibitors from corporations, government agencies and nonprofit organizations, showcasing new food products, professional services and nutrition education materials.
  • Research Symposium on Tuesday, September 19, features presentations on nutrient databases and epigenetics and dietetics.
  • Yolanda King, eldest daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, speaks Tuesday, September 19, on making diversity work in any environment.
