American Dietetic Association Foundation Names New Directors for 2006-07

CHICAGO –The American Dietetic Association Foundation has named four new members to its Board of Directors for 2006-07. The entire 13-member board is responsible for strategic planning, policy development and fiscal management for the Chicago-based ADA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American Dietetic Association.
The Foundation’s new 2006-07 directors are:
• Arthur S. Agatston, MD, Miami Beach, Fla., associate professor of medicine at the University of Miami and author of The South Beach Diet book series.
• Connie B. Diekman, MEd, RD, LD, FADA, St. Louis, Mo., director of university nutrition, Washington University in St. Louis, and the American Dietetic Association’s 2006-07 president-elect.
• Susan Calvert Finn, PhD, RD, FADA, Columbus, Ohio, chair of the American Council for Fitness and Nutrition, retired director of nutrition and communications at the Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories and the 1992-93 president of the American Dietetic Association.
• Sachiko T. St. Jeor, PhD, MS, RD, Reno, Nev., professor and chief of the division of medical nutrition and director of the Center for Nutrition and Metabolic Disorders, University of Nevada.
Current ADA Foundation Board member Neva Hudiburgh Cochran, MS, RD, LD, Dallas, Texas, will serve as ADAF’s chair for 2006-07. Cochran is a nutrition consultant, writer and researcher and a consultant and spokesperson for Coca-Cola’s “Healthy and Active Lifestyles program” and ADM-Kao’s Enova Oil.
