CHICAGO - The nation’s leading experts on critical topics in nutrition and health will be in San Antonio, Texas, October 25-28 for the American Dietetic Association’s annual Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo, to be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
Ten thousand scientific researchers, dietetics professionals, policy makers, health-care providers and industry leaders will attend the world’s largest gathering of food and nutrition experts.
Journalists are welcome and encouraged to attend more than 100 research and educational presentations, lectures, debates, panel discussions and culinary demonstrations. About 350 exhibitors from corporations, government and nonprofit agencies will showcase new consumer food products and nutrition education materials.
The keynote speaker at ADA’s 2003 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo will be Dr. Dot Richardson, captain of the 1996 and 2000 Olympic gold medal-winning U.S. softball teams and vice-chair of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness. The conference will also include a talk by U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Richard Carmona.
ADA’s network of volunteer media spokespeople - registered dietitians from all parts of the country with extensive experience working with print, broadcast and electronic journalists - will be available for interviews with reporters on the full range of food and nutrition topics.
