Mark your calendars now! The American Dietetic Association’s 2003 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo will be held October 25-28 in San Antonio.

This year’s ADA meeting will be interesting and newsworthy, with nutrition science research announcements, nationally known speakers, sessions featuring leading food and nutrition experts, culinary demonstrations and celebrity authors.

Saturday, October 25

  • Dot Richardson, MD, Olympic gold medal-winner and vice chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness, opens ADA’s meeting with the Ross Keynote Address

Sunday, October 26

  • Sessions include:

Monday, October 27

  • Singer/author Patti LaBelle signs copies of Lite Cuisine, her new cookbook for people with diabetes. ADA provided nutritional analysis and diabetic exchanges for more than 100 of the book’s recipes.

    • Food Counterterrorism and Emergency Response Preparedness on the Home Front

Tuesday, October 28

  • Cary Neff, one of the country’s leading chefs, offers a demonstration of recipes he has developed working with dietetics professionals that focus on the natural flavors, textures, aromas and health benefits of foods
  • Sessions include:
