CHICAGO - In an effort to help working people improve their personal health and wellness plans, the American Dietetic Association will launch a series of three “Workplace Wellness Teleseminars” to deliver ADA’s messages of healthy eating and fitness directly to people at work.
Beginning with “Weight Loss Fads” on January 16, 2004, the hour-long monthly teleseminars are designed to add a cost-effective health message to employee benefit packages. “With obesity rates growing and health insurance premiums climbing, ADA is offering a lunchtime program that can help employees build their personal health and wellness plans,” said Ronald Moen, chief executive officer of the American Dietetic Association.
Workplace Wellness Teleseminars, featuring food and nutrition experts from ADA, will continue on February 13 with a program devoted to “Heart Health,” and wrap up with “Meal Planning” on March 19. Each program will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Central time) and will encourage participants to ask questions and receive answers and advice from ADA’s experts.
Program registration is $195 for a single event and $495 for all three, a $90 savings. The registration fee will include teleseminar access for unlimited participants per phone, encouraging participation by conference call. Each registered site will also receive handout materials for each program and a CD with which to start a workplace wellness audio library.
(Registration Completed) or call KRM Information Service at 800/775-7654.
With nearly 70,000 members, the American Dietetic Association is the nation’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. Headquartered in Chicago, ADA serves the public by promoting optimal nutrition, health and well-being. Visit ADA at http://www.eatright.org/.
