Dallas Dietitian Named National Spokesperson
CHICAGO, July 21, 1997
Gollman joins a nationwide network of 28 spokespeople that communicate the importance of sound nutrition to the public on behalf of the nearly 70,000 member association. Along with other association spokespeople, Gollman will speak about ADA's campaigns and initiatives such as the health and cost-saving benefits of medical nutrition therapy and ADA's Nutrition Trends Survey.
Gollman is a consulting dietitian and nutrition educator with the Gollman Group, Dallas. She is a certified instructor for the American Culinary Federation and a creator and instructor of cooking classes for adults and children that focus on nutrition and low-fat cooking techniques.
An ADA member since 1987, Gollman is a member of ADA's Nutrition Entrepreneurs, Dietitians in Business and Communications, Vegetarian Nutrition, and Food and Culinary Professionals dietetic practice groups. Locally, she has served the Dallas Dietetic Association as president (1996-1997) and public relations chair (1992-1995). Additional professional affiliations include the International Association of Culinary Professionals and the American Institute of Wine and Food.
A prolific speaker, Gollman has presented several times at ADA and Texas Dietetic Association annual meetings. She is certified by Toastmasters International and a member of the American Cancer Society's speakers bureau.
Gollman earned her master's of science in nutrition from Texas Woman's University, Denton, and her bachelor's of science in medical technology from Wichita State University, Kansas. Before becoming a dietitian, she was a clinical microbiologist.
The American Dietetic Association serves the public by promoting optimal nutrition, health and well-being. With its headquarters in Chicago, ADA began its media spokesperson program in 1982.
