American Dietetic Association Foundation Invests in Future of Dietetics through Scholarships

CHICAGO - The American Dietetic Association Foundation has awarded more than  $210,000 in scholarships to 166 students at all levels of dietetics study for the 2004-05 academic year. The ADA Foundation, the largest provider of scholarships in the dietetics field, annually invests in the future of the profession through undergraduate, graduate and continuing education scholarships.

Scholarships are funded by individual donors, affiliated state and regional dietetic associations and American Dietetic Association corporate partners, including:

  • Colgate Palmolive, a global consumer products company focused on oral and personal care products
  • ADA’s Diabetes Care and Education dietetic practice group
  • ECOLAB, a developer of cleaning, sanitizing, maintenance and repair products and services for hospitality, institutional and industrial markets
  • Mead Johnson Nutritionals, a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb, manufacturer of pediatric and medical products that meet special nutritional requirements.

The ADA Foundation’s Scholarship Committee met recently in Evansville, Ind., to award the scholarships. Committee members include:

  • Mary Russell, MS, RD, LDN, CNSD, Durham, N.C.
