Convention and Trade-Show Professional Carla Lambert Named Director of Meeting Services at American Dietetic Association

CHICAGO - Certified meeting planner Carla Lambert has been named director of meeting services at the American Dietetic Association, the nation’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals.

“Carla is a convention and trade-show professional with nearly two decades of experience in meeting and exhibit management,” said ADA Vice President Karen Lechowich. “We are pleased to have her expertise in managing logistics for approximately 80 ADA meetings per year, including the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo, which annually attracts about 10,000 attendees.”

At ADA, Lambert’s responsibilities will include negotiating hotel and convention center agreements, arranging meeting function and Expo Hall space, housing, registration, busing, audio/visual and other meeting arrangements.

Since 1998, Lambert has been the associate director of meeting and exhibit services at the Emergency Nurses Association, in Des Plaines, Ill., where she was responsible for all operations and logistics for association meetings and supervised staff members responsible for registration management, food and beverage, exhibit sales and overall logistics.

Prior to ENA, Lambert worked for several multi-association management firms, including Executive Director Inc., Milwaukee, Wis.; Svinicki Association Management Services, Milwaukee; and The Wright Organization, Des Plaines, where she was chief operations officer.

Lambert is active in the Professional Convention Management Association at both the national and chapter level and in the Healthcare Convention Exhibitors Association where she serves on the national conference planning committee.

Lambert is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she earned a master’s degree in urban affairs. She earned the certified meeting professional credential in 1999.
