American Dietetic Association Names 2005-06 Board of Directors

CHICAGO - Seventeen national leaders will guide the American Dietetic Association as ADA’s 2005-06 Board of Directors. The Board, which takes office June 1 and serves until May 31, 2006, is responsible for strategic planning, policy development and fiscal management for the Chicago-based ADA.

Members of ADA’s 2005-06 Board of Directors are:

  • Rebecca S. Reeves, DrPH, RD, FADA, Houston, Texas, President
    Reeves is an assistant professor of medicine and the managing director of the Behavioral Medicine Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine.

  • Barbara K. Brandt, Columbus, Ohio, ADA Foundation Chair
    Brandt is the president of Barbara K. Brandt Inc., which provides philanthropic consulting services for corporations, foundations and nonprofit organizations.

  • Sonja L. Connor, MS, RD, LD, Portland, Ore., Speaker, House of Delegates
    Connor is a research associate professor of medicine at Oregon Health & Science University.

  • Connie Diekman, MEd, RD, LD, FADA, St. Louis, Mo., Director
    Diekman is the director of university nutrition at Washington University in St. Louis.

  • Cecilia P. Fileti, MS, RD, FADA, Ann Arbor, Mich., Director
    Fileti is the president of C.P. Fileti Associates Inc., a health communications firm, and Latino Health Communications.

  • M. Patricia Fuhrman, MS, RD, LD, FADA, CNSD, St. Louis, Mo., Director
    Fuhrman is an area nutrition services manager at Coram Healthcare.

  • Judith A. Gilbride, PhD, RD, CDN, FADA, New York City, N.Y., President-Elect
    Gilbride is a professor and chair of the department of nutrition, food studies and public health at New York University.

  • Susan H. Laramee, MS, RD, FADA, CNSD, Rockport, Mass., Past-President
    Laramee is the director of professional relations for Sodexho Health Care Services.

  • Beth L. Leonberg, MS, RD, CSP, FADA, Pipersville, Pa., Director
    Leonberg is the owner of Nutrition Outcomes LLC, a nutrition consulting firm.

  • Jessie M. Pavlinac, MS, RD, CSR, LD, Portland, Ore., Speaker-Elect, House of Delegates
    Pavlinac is the clinical nutrition manager and senior instructor at Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine.

  • Monica Penkilo, MPH, RD, LD, Tyler, Texas, Director
    Penkilo is the diabetes program coordinator at the University of Texas Health Center-Tyler.

  • Penny Ralston, PhD, MEd, Tallahassee, Fla., Public Member
    Ralston is a professor and dean of the College of Human Sciences at Florida State University.

  • Judith C. Rodriguez, PhD, RD, FADA, Jacksonville, Fla., House of Delegates Director
    Rodriguez is a professor of dietetics and chair of the Department of Public Health at the University of North Florida.

  • Marsha Schofield, MS, RD, LD, Louisville, Ky., House of Delegates Director
    Schofield is a regional vice president and the director of pediatric services at Martha Gregory & Associates Inc.

  • Diana Wynne, MBA, CPA, Dallas, Texas, Public Member
    Wynne is the vice president for treasury at Blockbuster Inc.

  • Martin M. Yadrick, MS, MBA, RD, FADA, Los Angeles, Calif., Treasurer
    Yadrick is a project manager for Computrition Inc., a provider of integrated software solutions for the health-care and hospitality industries.

  • Ronald S. Moen, MS, Chicago, Ill., American Dietetic Association Chief Executive Officer
    Moen manages ADA’s headquarters operations in Chicago and in Washington, D.C.
