American Dietetic Association Names 2007-2008 Board of Directors

CHICAGO – Seventeen national leaders in nutrition, medicine, industry and public health will serve as the 2007-2008 Board of Directors of the American Dietetic Association, the nation’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. The Board is responsible for strategic planning, policy development and fiscal management for the Association.

Members of ADA’s 2007-2008 Board of Directors will serve from June 1 to May 31, 2008. They are:

  • Connie B. Diekman, MEd, RD, LD, FADA, St. Louis, Mo., President.
    Diekman is director of university nutrition at Washington University in St. Louis.
  • Larry K. Ellingson, MBA, RPh, Fountain Hills, Ariz., Public Member.
    Ellingson is chairman of the board of Protemix Corporation and a retired executive at Eli Lilly and Co.
  • Susan C. Finn, PhD, RD, FADA, Columbus, Ohio, Chair of the ADA Foundation.
    Finn is president and chief executive officer of the American Council for Fitness & Nutrition and director of industry communications and research in the department of nutrition at The Ohio State University.
  • Michael O. Fleming, MD, FAAFP, Shreveport, La., Public Member.
    Fleming is a founding director and chief medical officer for Antidote Education Company, a medical education provider, and assistant clinical professor at Louisiana State University and Tulane University.
  • M. Patricia Fuhrman, MS, RD, LD, FADA, Ballwin, Mo., Director-at-Large.
    Fuhrman is strategic manager for nutrition services at Coram Inc., a provider of home infusion services and specialty pharmacy distribution.
  • Constance J. Geiger, PhD, RD, CD, Salt Lake City, Utah, Director-at-Large.
    Geiger is president of Geiger & Associates, a food labeling, health communications and government affairs consulting firm, and a research associate professor at the University of Utah.
  • Joyce A. Gilbert, PhD, RD, LD, Silver Springs, Fla., Treasurer.
    Gilbert is owner and president of J.A. Gilbert Associates, a food management consultancy specializing in operational efficiencies, food safety and pre-survey audits in the food and health care industries.
  • Judith A. Gilbride, PhD, RD, CDN, FADA, New York City, N.Y., Past-President.
    Gilbride is professor and chair of the department of nutrition, food studies and public health at New York University.
  • Rita Storey Grandgenett, MS, RD, Battle Creek, Mich., House of Delegates Director.
    Grandgenett is president of RD Associates of Michigan LLC, providing nutrition marketing, education materials and consultative services.
  • Yvonne D. Greer, MPH, RD, CD, Milwaukee, Wis., House of Delegates Director.
    Greer is nutritionist coordinator for the City of Milwaukee Health Department’s Adolescent Community Health Program and owns Y-EAT Right..., a private consulting practice.
  • Ronald S. Moen, MS, Chicago, Ill., ADA Chief Executive Officer.
    Moen manages ADA’s headquarters operations in Chicago and in Washington, D.C., directing the Association’s extensive national and international initiatives in public policy, consumer affairs and research.
  • Christine M. Palumbo, MBA, RD, Naperville, Ill., Director-at-Large.
    Palumbo is a nutrition communications consultant, speaker and writer and an adjunct faculty member at Benedictine University.
  • Kathleen M. Rourke, PhD, RD, RN, CHES, Bethel Park, Pa., House of Delegates Director.
    Rourke is chair of the board of trustees at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.
  • Marsha K. Schofield, MS, RD, LD, Stow, Ohio, Speaker-Elect, House of Delegates.
    Schofield is a project director with the Summit County (Ohio) Health District.
  • Ellen R. Shanley, MBA, RD, CDN, Glastonbury, Conn., Speaker, House of Delegates.
    Shanley is the didactic program director in dietetics and an instructor at the University of Connecticut’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
  • Jody L. Vogelzang, PhD, RD, FADA, Argyle, Texas, House of Delegates Director.
    Vogelzang is a biology teacher and research coordinator at Liberty Christian School, an adjunct assistant professor at Texas Woman’s University and president of Collaborative Health Solutions, a nutrition education company.
  • Martin M. Yadrick, MS, MBA, RD, FADA, Los Angeles, Calif., President-Elect.
    Yadrick is director of nutrition informatics for Computrition Inc., a provider of integrated software solutions for the health-care and hospitality industries.
